The Rev. Jim Harris is rector of St. James Episcopal Church. He previously served as Dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport, Iowa and prior to that served as rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Jacksonville, Florida.Fr. Harris is a graduate of Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis, Missouri and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois.He is currently completing his final year at Seabury Institute earning a Doctorate of Ministry in Congregational Development. Fr. Harris and his wife Laural have been married for more than twenty-five years.They have two grown daughters, Whitney (who is married to Nicholas Hopkins) and Erin (who is a senior at Southern Illinois University).

The Rev. Fred Hovey, Jr. has capably served as our interim rector on two different occasions. He is currently a retired associate.

He attended the University of Tennessee and the University of Florida and graduated from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. Prior to entering the seminary in 1962, he worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., for thirteen years. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and served on active duty for one year in Korea. In 1965 he became the first Vicar at Gloria Dei Episcopal Church in Cocoa, Florida. From there he served as an Assistant at the Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota, Florida. He was Rector of the Church of Incarnation in Highlands, N.C. for six years, after which he elected to become non-stipendiary, serving as a supply and interim priest in the Diocese of the Western North Carolina.

He and his wife, Velva, owned a retail store in Highlands for twenty years. They have two sons, Fred II and Bryan, and two grandsons , Jason and Matthew. Contact Father Hovey at fhovey@stjamesormondbeach.com .
The Rev. Judy Mathis is a Vocational Deacon who serves as both the Parish Outreach Coordinator and the Pastoral Care Coordinator. She is a graduate of the University of Miami (B. A.) and Syracuse University (M. S.) and was a high school English teacher and guidance counselor for nearly 30 years. Judy has completed the diaconal course at The Institute of Christian Studies and was ordained in December, 2003.  A member of St. James since 1982, she previously served as Senior Warden and has been active in numerous ministries. She and her husband Sonny have two grown children, Melissa and Andy, and two grandchildren, Grant and Zach.  Contact Rev. Ashton Williston

Ashton was born in NewSmyrnaBeach, baptized and married at St. James Episcopal Church. She received her Associate in Arts degree at BrevardCommunity College in 2004.In 2007 she graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Growing up she was extremely involved in youth ministry in the diocese of Northern Indiana.She began her youth ministry career at Holy Trinity in Melbourne in 2002.She came to St. James in May of 2006.She and her husband Joseph have been married for nine years and have two beautiful daughters Isabella and Abigail.

Paige Long, Minister of Music, is a seasoned church musician. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master of Arts Degree from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. Experience includes adjunct faculty Stetson University, Deland, Florida; New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Massachusetts; choral director, organist, concert flutist, orchestral and chamber musician. Prior to coming to St. James in the winter of 2004, Paige was a Director of Music at Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Andover, Minnesota.
